When Poseidon R&D began working on the concept for the BeSea, a wide range of divers with various diving experience was interviewed to establish what needed to be done to make the best BCD in the world.

The simple conclusion drawn from these interviews was: The current BCD's are acceptable under water but not on land. So why not make a BCD that is as comfortable on land as in the water?! When out diving, you spend perhaps 10 percent of the time in the water and the remaining 90 percent on land or on a boat.

That means a lot of time is spent handling / carrying heavy scuba equipment. This lead to the forming of the BeSea concept:

• Make a BCD that is as good and usefull on land as it is in water
• Make it easy and comfortable to carry tanks on land or in a boat, no matter if they are carried on the back or by hand
• It must be easy to put on and take off, easy enough that you won't need any assistance in or out of water
• It must accomodate different sizes
• Pockets should be possible to detach and replace
• Pockets should be easy to open and use, even under water

Using an ergonomically correct backpack, you can go hiking and carry heavy loads for hours without any fatigue in your sholders and/or neck.
These backpacks are designed to put the weight of the load you carry on your hips, not on you shoulders or neck, and at he same time allow you to breath without any restraint as there is no preassure on the abdomen. The BeSea combines the ergonomically benefits of a backpack with the functionallity of a dive wing.

Lumbard- and load support provides comfort and agility even if large dubble tanks are used, ensuring that the dive experience is not ruined by aiking shoulders or neck either on land or in water.

A lot of time and effort has been spent coming up with a "one size fits all" solution that actually works and at the same time doesn't effect the functionallity and comfort of the wing.
