Weight Pockets (ea set)

TransWeight 32 System for the TransPac or TransPlate has gone through extensive testing in open water with new students and seasoned veterans alike. We designed our new system to address, what we feel, are weak points in conventional systems on the market today. These include: angled the holsters slightly forward, configured as a “top loading” system, incorporated double Velcro™ locking systems, and lowered the center of gravity of the weight. Angling the holsters forward allow the pockets to be easily loaded by the diver. By simply holding the bottom of the pocket you guide it into the holster and let it slide into place. Then simply pat down the Velcro™ closures to hold it securely in the holster. By having the pockets load from the top rather than the front or bottom, our system is both easy to dump or hand off yet stays securely in place while diving without the need of extra buckles (which means an extra step to remove the weight). The standards of some training agencies have been rewritten to encompass integrated weight systems. These standards all have one thing in common; students must be able to ditch the weight during training dives. If the system is designed to be removed and replaced like a weight belt then they must do so. If the system is “bail out” only (not easily replaceable) then the diver must learn how to ditch the weight in shallow water so the weight can be retrieved and replaced. Another area of focus for weight systems is entry to and from small boats. It can be very difficult to climb into a small boat such as an inflatable after your dive. To do so the diver must first remove his weight to establish positive buoyancy, hand the weight into the boat, and then remove the cylinder and BC system to gain entry into the boat. We designed the new TransWeight System to allow the diver to enjoy many of the different aspects of diving by addressing the various concerns listed above. TransWeight 16 System does all itďż˝s big brother does but since it is designed to hold less lead it takes up only the space of the side plate on the TransPac or TransPlate leaving plenty of room for “D” rings and other accessories including pockets Belt Weight is expanding the line of flexible weighting options; the four-pound weight mounts to any BC harness or 4-inch cummerbund. A Velcro™ closure on the weights mounting loop means that divers can install it without having to unthread their equipment. Instructors will find the Belt Weight handy when students need additional weight that can be installed on the spot.
